Work on the Eastern Revetment and Main Breakwater repair project will begin the week of August 26, 2019. Initial work involves the installation of micropiles and a relieving platform to protect an existing water intake pipe. The work zone will be located between the main breakwater and Docks ‘X’ and ‘W’. There will be a minimum 40-foot clearance between the construction area and the docks to allow for two-way boat traffic during the installation period.
The construction area will be off limits to boaters and marked with white and orange buoys with a painted diamond and cross every 100 feet. Marine Radio Channel ‘13’ will be available for large boats to contact the Contractor’s boat captain in charge of the barges if more room is needed for maneuvering between the docks and the construction.
Following the installation of the relieving platforms, the Contractor is scheduled to begin the repair of the Eastern Revetment and Main Breakwater the week of September 3, 2019. The Contractor plans on working seven days a week as weather allows.
